Education is central to ICEE’s objectives of establishing sustainable eye care services for the benefit of underserved communities throughout the developing world.  Only through education can we build local capacity and create sustainable solutions for addressing uncorrected refractive error and other forms of avoidable and preventable blindness.

Vision centres are a key component of establishing sustainable eyecare in developing countries. The ICEE Vision Centres: An Introduction may be used to train project staff on the vision centre concept.  It provides both theoretical frameworks and practical examples on how to implement the concept within the field.  It can also be used to sensitise higher level staff to the vision centre concept.
